Keane shames players over Jose
UNITED players have ‘thrown’ Jose Mourinho ‘under the bus’ and have got ‘away with murder’, according to Roy Keane.
The football world was shocked on Tuesday morning when Mourinho was sacked by club chiefs with not even a hint it was coming following United’s defeat to Liverpool at the weekend.
For the first time, the Glazers decided to dismiss a manager when the top four was still mathematically possible and parted with a huge pay-off. United were unhappy with a lack of progress in form, Mourinho’s style of play and the development of the club’s young players.
Keane’s former team-mate, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, has been appointed interim manager until the end of the season and the Irishman has hit out at the players for their role in Mourinho’s sacking.
“I do think the players, obviously, get away with murder,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live. “Just the way they hide behind the manager, Mourinho.
“Whatever you say about the players, they have thrown him under the bus and people have said Mourinho has been falling out with players, well you would fall out with players.
“That’s the name of the game and players turn up overweight or players are not training properly and not producing. And then for some of them to down tools, you know, shame on some of them players.”
