Get migration under control

PIA Ladonna (‘Migration is positive and not the problem,’ Viewpoints,

December 17) might be disappoint­ed with Joseph O’Neill’s letter regarding immigratio­n but he is speaking sense.

Where does Ms Ladonna think all these extra people are going to live? We are a small island. We cannot add an extension if we become overfull.

If every one of the (almost) 500,000 people who arrived in Britain last year has one child, that’s another 500,000 people. What if they have two or more?

And who is going to keep all these extra people?

But it isn’t just down to money. We have people from this country, including ex-servicemen, sleeping on the streets.

The NHS can’t cope. There are not enough schools. There are certainly not enough houses, or so we are led to believe, but there never will be at the rate the population is increasing to unsustaina­ble levels.
