It’s not all over for Corrie Jim and Liz...

-

HE saw their reignited relationship end with a dramatic row at their daughter Katie’s graveside.

But Coronation Street star Beverley Callard says Liz and Jim McDonald are far from finished - and she believes his comeback should happen with another dark twist to their love story.

There’s rumours that Jim, who has myotonic dystrophy which affects the muscles and causes them to waste away, might return in a wheelchair and Liz becomes his carer in scenes reminiscent of the Bette Davis classic horror film Whatever Happened To Baby Jane? about an ageing child star who plots to get even with the sister left in her care, played by Joan Crawford. “There was a rumour upstairs, someone told me on the top floor where all the powers that be, that he comes back in a wheelchair and Liz treats him like Bette Davies,” says Bev.

“’Come and get your din dins Jim’. I thought ‘yes I love this.’ I would love that. Serving him a butty for his dinner.”

“I don’t think they are finished forever. I honestly don’t think they are.

“The way Charlie and I played it towards the very end they were coming together again before it was discovered and he played it with a sense of remorse and that he really did love Liz. I really hope they will try and bring him back. I think maybe he’ll somehow get the money to give back to Liz.”
