Odds against legend Ole

-

DOES any United fan think that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the Manchester United manager when the team runs out for its first Premier League game of the 201920 season? I don’t.

Even if Ole wins a cup this season, or does the unexpected and secures a top four finish to guarantee Champions League football next season, I cannot see the Glazer family and Ed Woodward rewarding our legend with a contract to take him beyond being asked to steer the club through this season’s extremely choppy water.

With names such as Mauricio Pochettino, Diego Simeone and Zinedine Zidane all mooted as a future Manchester United manager, Ole will have to do something quite remarkable over the next five months to even get a price from the bookmakers to keep his name on the door of the manager’s office at United’s Carrington Training Complex. If Ole leaves at the end of the season, I would love to see an experienced manager like Carlo Ancelotti lead us going forward.

Ole is still unproven as a manager. But given the legendary status he thoroughly deserves among us United fans, we are prepared to place our trust in him to reboot our team and have us once again playing the ‘United way.’ And let’s hope that when he packed his bags to leave Norway for England he remembered to pack his hårføner (Norwegian for hairdryer) because I have a feeling he might need to use it. Lykke til Ole (good luck Ole). John White, Branch Secretary, Carryduff Manchester United Supporters’ Club, Northern Ireland
