A MUM has described how she woke up in the middle of the night to find a stranger in her home – sitting with her two-year-old son.

Police were called to a property in Hyde at around 4am yesterday, after the mum discovered the intruder sitting on the stairs with the young boy.

A woman has been arrested on suspicion of attempted abduction and remained in custody for questioning.

In a Facebook post, the mum described the terrifying incident and urged other parents to be careful and make sure their doors and windows are always locked. A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: “Just after 4am (yesterday) morning, police attended an address in Hyde as a result of a report of an adult woman being found in the house, with one of the young children who lives in the house. “Police were called and arrived shortly after. “An adult woman has been arrested and inquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.” In the post, which has since been deleted, the mum wrote: “4am this morning I woke up to a woman on my stairs with my two-year-old son trying to kidnap him while me and [R***] slept in the next room. “This is Hyde area. Share to let people know. “I’m lucky I woke up or I wouldn’t have my little love. Please everyone be careful... make sure all doors and windows are locked.”
