Diaz is the Real deal with whopping release clause

-

REAL Madrid have set Brahim Diaz’s release clause at a whopping EUR750m after his move from City, according to reports.

The 19-year-old signed a six-and-ahalf-year deal at the Santiago Bernabeu and it is thought the get-out clause in his deal is worth more than those placed on Madrid stars Isco and Marco Asensio.

Spanish outlet Sport report that Diaz will pick up a tidy EUR3.5m per year at the European Champions after calling time on his three-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.

Madrid boss Santiago Solari confirmed yesterday that Diaz will make his debut in Los Blancos’ Copa del Rey game against Leganes tonight, subject to the relevant paperwork being approved.

Diaz became the second highprofile departure of a promising City prospect after Jadon Sancho left for Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2017.

It came after City failed in their attempts to secure Diaz on a new contract at the Etihad, and the Spain under-21 international explained his delight at sealing his move.

“This is the most important day in my life,” Diaz told reporters at his unveiling on Monday.

“I have joined the club which I have dreamed of playing at since I was a child.

“When I decided it was time to leave Manchester City I only considered three options: the first was joining Real Madrid, the second was playing at Real Madrid and the third and last was playing at Real Madrid.

“I didn’t want to go anywhere else.”
