Is Becks set to play a Blinder?
UNITED LEGEND PICTURED AS STARS OF HIT TV SHOW FILM IN STOCKPORT
HAS David Beckham landed himself a cameo in Peaky Blinders?
The United legend recently collaborated with the creators of the series on a new clothing collection for his fashion label Kent & Curwen. Now he’s been pictured on set as filming on series five continues in Stockport. The retired footballer was snapped at Stockport town hall with film still photographer Robert Viglasky, who posted a picture on Instagram.
Becks was wearing a frock coat and cardigan from Kent & Curwen, which has teamed up with Garrison Tailors, a menswear company founded by series creator Stephen Knight, on the Peaky Blindersinspired capsule collection, which debuted at London Fashion Week Men’s 2019.
Filming took place inside the town hall. The council could not reveal what scenes took place inside but it appears the Grade II-listed building was used as the Shelby Co Ltd headquarters. The family business name can be seen displayed on a sign on a door and a portrait of boss Tommy played by Cillian Murphy – hangs above a fireplace in pictures posted on the council’s official events page on Instagram.
The Plaza and surrounding Mersey Square were also transformed with period details to set the scene for a street protest outside a political rally by far right politician Oswald Mosley, played by The Hunger Games star Sam Claflin.
