Sex attack on woman at top boxing event

POLICE are hunting a man who sexually assaulted a woman inside the Manchester Arena following a high-profile night of boxing.
The attack was reported to police after Carl Frampton’s bout with Josh Warrington in Manchester on December 22.
British Transport Police have now released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to in connection with the incident.
Anyone with information is being asked to come forward.
Police said the attacker approached a woman within the inner bowl of the Arena after the bout had finished and sexually assaulted her.
In a statement, BTP said: “Officers have today released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak to following a report of a sexual assault at the Manchester Arena.
“The incident is reported to have happened at 11.29pm on Saturday, December 22, 2018, following the end of a boxing match.
“A man was seen to approach a woman within the inner bowl of the arena and touch her inappropriately.
“Officers believe the man shown in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.”
The night of boxing was marred when a huge brawl erupted in the crowd during the fight.
The venue was full as thousands of fans flocked to see Yorkshireman Warrington take on Belfast fighter Carl Frampton.
Warrington successfully defended his IBF World Featherweight title with a unanimous points victory.
