Salford visit basement side with a magnificent 7 on mind!

- NON-LEAGUE By ALEX HENDLEY

FOUR of the National League’s top five play away from home today but few, theoretically, are kinder than Salford City’s trip to bottom-of-the-table Braintree Town.

The Iron have won just two of their past 14 games, and the Ammies will be looking to take advantage as they, unbeaten in six, look to wind in Leyton Orient.

In the National League North, Stockport County travel to relegation-threatened Guiseley, knowing a win could put them within a point of the league’s top spot.

The Hatters have won their last nine, and are unbeaten in 14.

Last time out they brushed aside National League Harrogate Town in the FA Trophy last week.

FC United and Altrincham go head-to-head at Broadhurst Park, both in need of a win for very different reasons.

The Rebels are six points from safety, while the Robins need a win to ensure they remain in the play-off places following a convincing 3-0 hammering at Leamington.

Curzon Ashton could fuel the fire of their promotion hopes with a win at home to Alfreton Town.

After five wins and a draw in 2019, the Nash are now only four points from seventh.

They also have a man in form in Oliver Crankshaw, who has scored four from midfield since the turn of the year.

Neighbours Ashton United are staging their own miniresurgence.

Three wins in six have seen Jody Banim’s side keep their hopes of beating relegation alive.

Three points away at York City today could take them to just a point from safety.
