Body is found on site

AN investigation has been launched by police after the body of a man was found on a construction site.

The man is believed to be aged in his 20s, police said, but he hasn’t been named.

Greater Manchester Police said officers were initially called to Lower Broughton in Salford on Friday afternoon after reports of concerns for his welfare.

After enquiries, his body was discovered near flats off Malta Street in Ancoats.

Police said the man’s death was not being treated as suspicious.

A file was due to be passed to a coroner for an inquest into his death to be opened.
