‘Jane must not put her eating on ice’

-

DANCING On Ice star Jane Danson suffered a shocking collapse earlier this month – and fans feared she may be forced to pull out of the show. But thanks to a dose of northern grit, she bounced back quickly to perform live on the same day before being voted through to the next round.

The Coronation Street star, who plays Leanne Battersby, has successfully made it through each round of the ITV show without having to compete in a skate off.

Despite her determination, it seems that she could be in danger of collapsing again if she doesn’t sort something pretty important out.

Her dance partner Sylvain Longchambon – the husband of Jane’s Corrie co-star and friend Samia – has revealed that the 40-year-old just wasn’t eating enough.

“She’s not been eating enough for the last couple of weeks,” he told New! Magazine. “She’s been very busy at Corrie and training on the ice every day. We’ve often been training between 12pm and 3.30pm, which is when you would have your lunch.

“I know she’s been eating sandwiches and not the most healthy food. I think that didn’t help on [that] Sunday.”

Jane’s co-star Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, says she was ‘lucky.’

Brooke took part in last year’s instalment of the contest where she finished as runner-up.

“She is mega-committed and mega-excited so I’m excited for her,” said Brooke. “I know obviously what’s coming for her so it’s really exciting to see.

“She’s so lucky because she’s really good friends with Samia and Sylvain, she’s got Sylvain there.

“Obviously he knows that side of things and Samia knows the other side of things, so it’s really, really good that she’s got them both as a unit around her.”

Dancing On Ice continues tomorrow at 6pm on ITV.

JOHN Thomson has introduced himself to the art of wellbeing. The 49-year-old actor revealed on Lorraine that he’s qualified to perform reiki after doing a training course.

Reiki is a healing technique where therapists channel energy into a patient using their hands to activate the body’s natural healing process.

Salford-born John, pictured, who was raised in Didsbury like his Cold Feet character Pete Gifford, revealed to Lorraine that he’d already used his newly acquired skill on his daughter.

“You can do it on yourself, you can do it on your pets,” he explained.

“The first day when I did the training, my daughters were staying. Sophia got hiccups and I cured them instantly. “She said, ‘daddy it’s magic’.” He also spoke about the prospect of a new series of Manchester-based comedy drama Cold Feet.

“I’m not allowed to say because I don’t know,” he explained.

“Every time we have to wait, we get the call and they say, ‘we’re going again’. It’s all very dramatic.”

Addressing whether he believed the show would return for a ninth outing, he said: “We live in hope. I have every faith.”
