Corrie Jane on her Dancing On Ice exit
has spoken about her Dancing On Ice collapse following her boot from the ITV show on Sunday.
The Coronation Street actress took a tumble on the ice earlier this month - and at the time fans were worried about her future on the ice skating reality series.
Last week her dance partner Sylvain Longchambon revealed she hadn’t eaten enough on the day of the faint - but Jane says that was only part of the reason.
Jane, who plays Leanne Battersby on the Cobbles, says the day she collapsed marked a heartbreaking day for her.
She told ITV Lorraine: “In all honesty I think it was a combination of quite a few things on that particular day. I arrived at the studio slightly later than normal for various reasons.
“We didn’t have much chance to warm up. I was severely dehydrated, and just to add insult to injury, it was also the anniversary of my dad’s death that day, so I was feeling quite emotional.
“I think it was compounded by exhaustion, I had not drunk enough, probably not eaten as much as I maybe should have done. So it was a tough day.”
Jane was voted off Dancing On Ice on Sunday despite scoring her highest mark on the show.
The 40-year-old was axed in a brutal double elimination which also saw off former cricketer Ryan Sidebottom.
Jane admitted that her role in Corrie was probably the reason she skated ‘quite tentatively’ in the seven weeks she performed.
“When you take a tumble it does hurt, and maybe that’s why I was quite tentative because I was working at the same time and I didn’t want to damage Leanne,” she explained.
