Men admit gun attack
THREE men have admitted their part in a shooting in Salford in which a man was blasted through the window of a house.
Police still want to speak to a fourth man in connection with the attack, following which a 26-year-old was taken to hospital with abdominal injuries.
The man was shot shortly after 10pm on May 22 last year, after shots were fired at a house on Cloughfield Avenue, in Ordsall.
Two men and a woman were inside the house when a gun was fired at a downstairs window.
The shooter ran away and got into a white car on Robert Hall Street, which was driven off towards Phoebe Street.
Three men have now admitted their part in the shooting. Bryan Thomas, 19, of HMP Altcourse; Philip Manning, 31, of HMP Wakefield; and Tony Kelly, 27, of no fixed abode, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm and possession of a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence at Manchester Crown Court.
Judge Patrick Field, QC, remanded the three men in custody ahead of a sentencing hearing later this month.
A fourth man is being sought by Greater Manchester Police in connection with the shooting.
Detectives previously issued images of the man they want to speak to. Investigating officers say he could be from Merseyside.
