Lukaku showcases incredible sportsmanship

IT was one of the greatest comebacks in United’s illustrious history.

Nobody had given them a chance heading into the second-leg of their Champions League encounter with Paris Saint-Germain, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side defied the odds to win 3-1 and book their place in the last eight of the competition.

Marcus Rashford’s injury time penalty proved to be the winner after Romelu Lukaku’s first-half brace. As the full-time whistle was drowned out by the emotional celebrations, United players and staff exploded into life as they ran towards the Parc des Princes away section.

United supporters would excuse their players for getting caught up in the heat of the moment, however the end of the game gave the opportunity for Lukaku to showcase his class.

While the majority of his teammates partied in front of the away end, the Belgian international consoled the defeated PSG players following their own heartbreaking exit.

Television cameras panned to the pitch where the United forward could be seen sympathising with defender Presnel Kimpembe after he gave away the decisive penalty as the result of a harsh handball decision in stoppage time.

It was another moment of pure professionalism from Lukaku, who used perhaps the greatest moment of his club career to show incredible sportsmanship.
