Stockport eyeing up date at Wembley

- NON-LEAGUE By ALEX HENDLEY

STOCKPORT travel to Fylde for the first leg of their FA Trophy semi-final today, hoping to put themselves in pole position for Wembley ahead of their home leg next week.

Fylde are six points off the top of the National League, making them strong favourites, but County - who are in the division below - will be determined to get back to winning ways after losing their 23-game unbeaten run last week.

In the National League, Salford will be hoping to take advantage of Fylde not playing as they would leapfrog them with a win at Aldershot.

The Ammies have won their last three games without conceding, and beat Aldershot 4-0 in November.

Altrincham face a promotion clash at home to Brackley and could move fourth with a win. The Robins have lost just one of their last seven, cementing their position in the play-off places with eight games to play.

FC United boosted their chances of survival with their shock 3-1 win at Telford United last week, and host York City at Broadhurst Park today.

The Rebels haven’t lost in four, but the visiting Minstermen are tough opponents, winning four of their last five and still they have an outside chance of making the play-offs.

Curzon Ashton would do FC United a favour if they take victory at Guiseley, who lie just a point above the relegation zone, while the Nash will be hoping to start a late promotion push after a run of three wins in six.
