CITY Something special is brewing at City – Silva

- By DANIEL MURPHY

BERNARDO Silva has revealed how his City team-mates are feeling as they approach the business end of the season.

City had to come from two goals down in the FA Cup quarter-final against Swansea City after Matt Grimes and former Blue Bersant Celina fired the Swans to a 2-0 halftime lead.

But it was Bernardo who gave City a lifeline with a fine strike with 20 minutes remaining. Sergio Aguero’s penalty fortuitously found its way into the back of the net before the Argentinian scored a diving header and sent City into the semi-finals at Wembley to face Brighton.

As well as the FA Cup, City are through to the Champions League quarter-finals and are only two points behind Liverpool with a game in hand at the top of the Premier League.

As a result City have a maximum of 15 games left to complete the unprecedented and win the Quadruple.

“I think all the players feel that this season can be special,” Bernardo said. “Last season was special in the way we won the Premier League, this season can be special because we’ve already won one competition, we’re still playing for three. “We can win three or lose all of them as well, so it will be very tough, so yes, we know that the last monthand-a-half will be very tough, it will be crucial, to make something special and to try to write an important page in the history of this club, and that’s what we’ll try to do.”

It’s been a great week for the Portuguese international after signing a new contract to extend his stay at the Etihad and then scoring an important goal to help the Blues to victory.

“Yes, a special moment for me, I’m very happy to stay here, to sign a new deal with City, and to stay until 2025,” the 24-year-old said.
