Voters not represented

-

THE E.U. clearly knows that it is now firmly in the driving seat.

The fact is that they do not have to agree to an extension of Article 50. Indeed, why should they? Having watched the chaotic situation in our own Government and Parliament, I feel that it will stand firm and further put the pressure on our Government to come to a decision one way or the other.

The leaders are obviously showing that it does not matter either way to them. I don’t blame them. The EU does not want Britain to leave but after the pathetic and continual bickering that they have witnessed in the last three years, who can blame it for the stance it is taking?

It truly saddens me that the people within Government have not shown any confidence in the British electorate, who voted by a majority to leave, thus literally telling them that we did not know what we were doing.

The continued endless division within our Government only goes to prove that, in fact, that is completely the opposite. The simple fact is that the referendum vote should have been upheld from day one, and democracy, as we have always abided by, should have been honoured.

The scaremongering that has been increasingly highlighted by the ‘remoaners,’ shows that they have absolutely no faith in the British people, who are more than capable of riding such a storm.

As the saying goes ‘when the going gets tough, the tough get going.’

The pointless and needless imposed austerity shows our resilience.

I would suggest that the British people make their voices heard and demand that this Government should be held to account for their continual mis-representation of the people of this country. Alan Walker, via email
