CORONATION Street star Katie McGlynn ramped up the glamour as she hit the town with her co-stars for her leaving party.

The Rochdale actress has bid a sad farewell to her much-loved character Sinead Tinker after the machinist found out she only has months to live.

Katie, 26, has filmed her last scenes as Sinead after six years on the soap and she threw a leaving bash at Manchester bar Mahiki.

Inside the party the cast and crew donned Sinead masks and partied alongside a Sinead wreath and balloons.

The soap star, who previously played Scout in the BBC One school drama Waterloo Road, had flashbulbs popping as she arrived at the venue in a pink PVC mini dress.

Katie channelled the 90s as she teamed her dress with a fluffy pink handbag and see-through heels.

She was joined by her friend Lee Antony Bennett and a host of Corrie castmates including Rob Mallard, from Oldham, who plays her on-screen husband Daniel Osbourne and Sam Aston, who plays Sinead’s former love Chesney Brown.

Katie and Rob have received high praise for harrowing scenes over the past week which saw the young mum find out her cancer had returned on her wedding day.

Katie was also joined by Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully, Alexandra Mardell (Emma Brooker), Daniel Brocklebank (Billy Mayhew), Georgia Taylor (Toyah Battersby), Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby), Jennie McAlpine (Fiz Brown), Sally Ann Matthews (Jenny Connor) and Lisa George, who plays Sinead’s auntie Beth Sutherland.

And the Corrie stars enjoyed a catchup, including Jennie and Georgia.

Sharing a photo of the pair on her Instagram Georgia said: “Toyah and Fiz might’ve forgotten that they’re friends but me and my@jenniemcalpine haven’t.” And sharing a photo of herself with Jane, who plays her on-screen sister, she wrote: “Always the best time with my sis.”

Sinead was diagnosed with cervical cancer last year while she was pregnant and temporarily stopped her treatment as she was worried it would harm her unborn child. After she was told her cancer had returned and had spread to her lymph nodes and liver, Sinead returned home from the hospital with Daniel and blamed herself for delaying her chemo and now having to prepare for their baby Bertie growing up without his mother.
