Recruiting group nears £1bn goal in 50th year

NEW ACQUISITIONS HELP FUEL GROWTH AS CEO HAILS STAFF IN ‘LANDMARK YEAR’

SALFORD based technical recruiter, Morson Group, is marking its 50th birthday with record revenues reaching £867m, bringing it closer to its £1bn target.

The group, led by CEO Ged Morson, said growth was mainly organic but was bolstered by a number of acquisitions which took the business into new markets.

Growth was spearheaded by three strategic acquisitions made during 2018, which saw the Morson Group acquire Canadian and USA-based recruiter, Strategic Infusion and UK-based companies, Anderselite Holdings and Waldeck Holdings.

Strategic Infusion continued the Morson Group’s North American expansion into mature markets in power, nuclear, telecommunication and aerospace.

With a focus closer to home, specialist recruiter Anderselite Holdings strengthened the Group’s presence and offer in construction, civil engineering, facilities management and rail, while Waldeck established a complementary offer alongside Morson Projects, boosting its design capabilities in rail, civil structural engineering and architecture, and adding significant Building Information Modelling (BIM) expertise.

CEO Ged Mason said: “2018 was a landmark year for the Morson Group as we cemented our position as market leaders of talent and go-to strategic partners across a number of technical sectors.

“Competition for talent also means that more organisations are examining their end-to-end recruitment processes and outsourcing these functions to specialists like ourselves to source the candidates they need, whilst delivering efficiencies and cost savings.”

The Morson Group family comprises a number of businesses that specialise in recruitment and outsourced solutions, including Morson International, Morson Projects, Vital Human Resources, The Bridge and Morson Training.

Founded in 1969, the Morson Group remains the UK’s largest independently-owned recruitment company and collectively employs more than 1,100 people.

Ged added: “Growing a successful business is about people and our staff really are the backbone of the group. I’m proud of every member of the Morson family for committing their time and support, and making our group of businesses exceptional places to work.”
