DETECTIVES investigating an alleged arson attack on a house have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to.

It has also emerged that two men have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life after the incident in Moston earlier this month.

A family-of-four, including two young children, managed to escape the terrace house on Bordale Avenue as the flames took hold.

Photographs from the scene reveal the full extent of the damage.

All the front windows were blown out in the resulting blaze.

Two adults and two children, aged 10 and 15, fled the house shortly after 8pm on Thursday, September 5.

Thankfully, it’s not believed there were any injuries.

But detectives said the family has ‘lost everything’ and the house was ‘completely destroyed.’

They said the consequences ‘could easily have been fatal.’

GMP have now confirmed the fire is being treated as suspicious and CCTV images of a man investigators want to speak to have been issued by the force. A spokesman said two men, aged 18 and 20, were arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.

Both were later released under investigation pending further enquiries after being questioned.

Detective Constable Christopher Preston said: “If you recognise this man, or if you have any information which may assist our investigation, please get in touch with police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact police on 0161 856 3985, quoting incident number 2620 of 05/09/2019.
