Avril’s ready to rock Manchester

-

AVRIL Lavigne, the Canadian singer famed for her skater punk style in the early 2000s, will visit Manchester on her European tour next year.

The pop star was behind singles Complicated, Sk8er Boi, Girlfriend and When You’re Gone and now has six studio albums under her studded belt.

Next year’s tour dates will be part of the Head Above Water world tour, in support of the latest album of the same name.

The tour began in September this year and will take her across the United States and her native Canada before visiting Europe next spring.

Avril will play the O2 Apollo in Manchester on Thursday April 2, 2020 - one of only two UK dates and tickets are on sale on Friday.

The European leg of the tour will also take her to London, Milan, Munich, Paris and Berlin, to name a few.

A donation of £2 from each ticket sale will go to The Avril Lavigne Foundation, which supports people with Lyme disease or other serious illnesses or disabilities.

Avril is an eight-time Grammy nominated singer, and the third best-selling Canadian female musician of all time, behind only Celine Dion and Shania Twain.

As well as enjoying great chart success with all six of her albums - all of which made the top 20 of the UK albums chart - Avril is known for her punk rock fashion sense of pokerstraight hair and smudged black eyeliner.

Will we get to delight in more awkward backstage fan photo opportunities ? We can only hope.

HOW CAN I GET TICKETS? General sale tickets will go on sale on Friday at 9am. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and See Tickets .

Both an artist presale and an O2 Priority presale will run from 9am on today until 8am on Friday.
