A MUM was horrified after a hit-andrun driver ploughed into her car, causing it to tip onto two wheels before spinning in the middle of the road leaving her son injured.

Chloe Rigney is offering a £500 reward for anyone who knows the man responsible for the smash in Stockport.

He was seen speeding off on the wrong side of the road after crossing the central reservation following the incident.

Chloe was waiting at traffic lights on St Mary’s Road in Stockport with her son, Dominic, when ‘out of nowhere’ a ‘young lad’ in a white BMW smashed into the front of her Volvo XC90.

To her shock her car went on two wheels then began spinning out of control at 1.22pm on Thursday.

The 37-year-old, from Stockport, said the driver then went through the central reservation, before crossing the carriageway and travelling down the wrong side of the road.

Dominic, 12, was taken to hospital suffering severe whiplash.

Recalling the smash, Chloe said: “I was hit from the side, it was young lad. I don’t know where he came from. He’s come from somewhere and hit the front of my car.

“He hit it with such force, he didn’t even brake. My car started spinning.

“He hit it that hard it went onto two wheels.

“He knew there was a woman and a boy in the car. My son had to be put on a backboard. He’s really badly hurt his spine.

“He’s in a lot of pain. The (offender’s) car must have been missing a front end. He drove off at 60mph.”

She said she was left ‘really shocked and upset’ by the incident.

“I was really quite frightened. Especially because he drove off. We felt quite bewildered,” she said.

She said her son has since been allowed home from hospital.

In a Facebook status, Chloe wrote: “Any information there is a reward for (cash) even if you are the driver.

“You need to contact me so we can get this sorted out. You need to face up to what you have done no repercussions, all I want is this sorted.

“You could have killed someone not only myself and my child, but the countless other people you put in danger by crossing the carriageway and crossroad but you could have lost your own LIFE!!!

“All for what??? Because you didn’t want to stop and face up to what you had done. It was an accident !!!!!! Not worth police charges or losing your life!!!”

GMP have been contacted for comment.
