3,500 sq ft of luxury, a gym... and its own Lexus

LUXURY hotels and apartments spring up around Manchester like daisies, but few will come anywhere close to The House.

This 3,500 square foot apartment is the crowning glory of Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville’s soon-to-open Stock Exchange Hotel.

With three bedrooms and its own enormous roof terrace, the huge penthouse comes with all the five-star service of a luxury hotel but enough facilities that you’d never need to step outside the front door.

The House has its own private entrance and its own gym, as well as custom-built furniture, 60-inch flat screen TVs, a fully-fitted kitchen, en suite bathrooms and enough space that you could comfortably start a kickabout with your fellow tenants or guests.

It also comes with a 24-hour personal concierge, 24-hour valet parking, laundry, in-room dining, and use of the hotel car, a Lexus RXL.

The former Manchester United teammates have partnered with hotelier Winston Zahra to breathe new life into the grade II-listed building on Norfolk Street.

They’ve also roped in Tom Kerridge, a chef with three Michelin stars to his name, to operate the hotel’s restaurant The Bull & Bear on the ground floor. According to Giggs, they’ve already taken bookings for 7,000 covers.

The Stock Exchange Hotel, which is due to open to the public on November 15, sits in the heart of the city centre, a short distance from Market Street, Deansgate and close to the restaurants on King Street.

The fifth floor apartment has been designed by design studio Autoban to create a contemporary space that remains sensitive to the Edwardian baroque style of the rest of the building.

From the roof terrace, future tenants will be able to see right across the Manchester skyline, while the open-plan living space has a dining table for 10, two separate lounge areas and a bar.

The separate kitchen leads through to the fitness room, kitted out with treadmill, exercise bike and free weights.

Each bedroom has its own en suite and the master has an enormous double shower.

Although hotel rooms in the Stock Exchange start from £160 per night, a stay in The House will come closer to £1,750 per night depending on the length of stay.

Co-owner Ryan Giggs told the M.E.N: “I think it will be game changing.

“We have brought back to life a forgotten Manchester building which was hugely significant of its time.

“The design respects the heritage of the building and now we’re protecting that history by restoring it.

“There are some fantastic new developments just being finished [elsewhere in Manchester] and in the pipeline but none of them will have their own five star service department and that’s what differentiates The House from anything else.

“We’re confident that demand will be big. Manchester is progressive, it’s moving quickly, so many people are now either moving into the city for the first time or back to the city.

“If something like this was on the market when I was looking to live in Manchester I would have taken it.”
