BEST OF THE REST

TRAVEL MAN,

Channel 4, 8.30pm

THIS show seems to fly under the radar, but for us it’s one of the funniest, most entertaining half hours on the box. And we really should be enjoying reluctant traveller Richard Ayoade as much as possible while we’ve still got him, as this is the last series he will be at the helm of.

Tonight our grumpy host is spending 48 hours in Bergen, Sweden, accompanied by sassy stand-up and recent Taskmaster champ Lou Sanders. It’s a pretty high-octane weekend, featuring the speedboats, cable cars and zip lines.

You can imagine just how much action-averse Richard loves all that. But that’s what makes it so great. Who wants to see celebs on snazzy all-expenses-paid holidays, actually having a fantastic time?

WHO ARE YOU CALLING FAT?

BBC2, 9pm

WE know there’s an obesity crisis in this country, with more than a quarter of us in that classification. And we know it’s one of the leading causes of health problems and premature death, with a hefty impact on the NHS.

But what is it actually like to live in Britain, as an obese person?

To understand the experience, the Beeb has come up with this thoughtprovoking new series.

Nine volunteers move into a house and share their stories – there’s ‘fat activist’ and body confidence coach Victoria, lorry driver Jack who’s desperate to shape up and worried about diabetes, and Babs who struggles to accept her body and would never dare to bare.
