THE parent company of online takeaway platform Foodhub has announced its acquisition of Manchester-based platform Big Foodie.

Software company Touch2Success said the multi-million pound deal will see Big Foodie’s staff, infrastructure, website and branding remain the same.

The acquisition is part of expansion plans for Foodhub, which is on target to achieve three million orders for 2019.

Foodhub, established in

2017, has more than 8,000 registered takeaways and restaurants on its platform, and Foodhub and Touch2Success handle more than 1.2m orders each month.

Big Foodie, established in 2012, has more than 2,500 registered takeaways and averages 30,000 orders per week.

Mohamed Chaudry, finance director at Touch2Success, said the acquisition will “significantly benefit both brands”, and bring Foodhub closer to its target of 18,000 active businesses registered to the platform. “Touch2Success has been achieving significant growth, doubling turnover and customer base year-onyear,” he said. “The purchase of

Big Foodie is part of our aggressive growth plans via acquisitions and we are in advanced talks to acquire other competitors.”

Foodhub technical specialist, Ardit Mula, said it will continue to explore and grow its Chinese food offering, an area it specialises in.

“End-users on both platforms will benefit from a wider selection of takeaways to choose from and the takeaway owners will benefit from our zero-commission policy,” he said.
