GIRL’S HORROR AT STAB ATTACK BY EX-BOYFRIEND ‘EGGED ON BY HIS NEW LOVE’

- By AMY WALKER

A TEENAGE mum who was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend - to allegedly ‘prove himself’ to his new girlfriend - relived the moment she got herself ‘ready to die’ to a jury.

A court heard the 17-year old victim said the boy, also 17, turned up at her home, forced himself on her and said ‘have got to kill you,’ before pulling a large kitchen knife from a plastic carrier bag.

The college student subsequently stabbed the girl multiple times leaving her with wounds on her face, neck and armpit plus three to her back, jurors were told.

The court heard the boy’s new girlfriend, 17, loitered outside the victim’s Greater Manchester home, texting him more than 50 times saying: “Why you taking so long? Hurry up and do it.”

The injured girl suffered serious injuries in the attack, but was lucky to escape with her life and the lad and his girlfriend were arrested later, jurors were told.

The boy, the father of the victim’s child, denies attempted murder and rape, but admits intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

His current girlfriend denies encouraging the boy to commit murder and assist him to cause GBH.

The girl claims she thought the boy was simply going to end his relationship with the victim and she wanted him to record the break-up on his phone as proof.

The defendants can’t be named for legal reasons.

Jurors were told police discovered the couple exchanged messages.

Manchester Crown Court heard he messaged: “I did it to prove I love you. There was no other way to keep you.”

She replied: “I know there wasn’t - I’m gonna protect you at all costs.”

In court the victim watched as the start of a video of her interview with police was played to jurors.

She told police: “He was saying ‘do I look like a killer?’ and ‘do you want me to kill you’ and multiple times he said ‘you will die.’

“I was scared, I was upset and I knew something was going to happen and he was like Jekyll and Hyde.”

She added: “Then the conversation just stopped and he started getting lots of texts and that’s when the vibe changed and everything went dark.

“The mood changed and it went from upset to hurt to violent.

“His eyes stared to bulge out and he said, ‘I’m saying stupid things, I’m not going to hurt you’ then was saying ‘I was p***ing him off’ and then said ‘it’s not a joke.’

“I said ‘I’m dead aren’t I? I’m going to die’ and I was getting ready for my death.”
