Motorcyclist, 23, killed in collision
A YOUNG motorcyclist who died in a crash has been named as Kyle Carthy.
The 23-year-old’s family have been left heartbroken following the incident.
Kyle was riding a Honda motorbike along Brinksway in Cheadle Heath, Stockport, when he collided with a red B-Max Ford which was turning into Alder Grove.
Police and paramedics were called to the scene just before 9.30pm on Tuesday. Kyle suffered neck and head injuries. His loved ones believe the incident was a tragic accident.
One family member told the Manchester Evening News: “Everyone will miss him so much.
“It was just a tragic accident. They didn’t see each other.”
Tributes have poured in for Kyle on Facebook. “RIP, Kyle. Taken too soon,” Carlene Billington posted.
Brandon Jones said: “My thoughts are with your family and friends. Can’t believe it.” Codie Owen posted: “Rest in peace, Kyle.” “Rest easy mate,” Nathan Hodkinson wrote.
A section of Brinksway, near the old Bow Garrett pub, was taped off by police in the wake of the incident.
A red Ford with a smashed windscreen could be seen at the scene, along with a damaged motorbike lying in the road.
Police have launched an investigation and are appealing for witnesses to come forward.
Pc Andrew Nicholson, of GMP’s serious collision investigation unit, said: “This was a tragic accident where a man has sadly lost his life.
“Specialist officers are with his family and supporting them through this horrific time. If you were in the area at this time and saw the collision or have any dashcam footage that could assist our enquiries then please get in touch.”
