Eric’s the king of rock n roll

UNITED LEGEND-TURNED-ACTOR STARS IN CITY FAN LIAM GALLAGHER’S LATEST VIDEO

-

ERIC Cantona has landed a starring role in the video for Liam Gallagher’s latest single Once. In the video, the United legend is seen donning a crown and living up to his nickname of ‘The King,’ all while striding around a stately home in his underwear and a robe.

Liam Gallagher also appears in the music video, in the role of Cantona’s suited butler.

The former footballer is seen strolling through rooms littered with balloons and glasses of red wine, briefly playing piano, before throwing off his robe and don- ning a cape and crown.

Despite being a loud-and-proud City supporter, Liam has said he is delighted to have King Eric in his latest video. In a tweet posted yesterday, the exOasis frontman said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to have Eric Cantona, the last rock n roll footballer, star in my video for ‘Once.’ Songs like this don’t come around very often and neither do football players like him LG x”

He also posted a black and white picture of the pair on set.

Once comes from Liam’s second album Why Me? Why Not, which was released last September and reached the top of the UK albums chart. It’s the follow-up to his debut solo album As You Were.

He has dropped it just one day after estranged brother Noel released his video for Blue Moon Rising, which Liam has described as ‘BORING.’

Fans have taken to Twitter to discuss the video, labelling it ‘spectacular.’ One posted: “Pictures you never thought you’d see. Liam Gallagher dresses as a butler, talking to Eric Cantona in his underwear and a robe. Wicked.”

Liam will perform a massive homecoming show at Heaton Park on Friday June 12, the night before Parklife festival begins.
