Well me and my NTA are quite happy with my performance but thanks for your concern Katie McGlynn responds to a troll on Twitter

FORMER Coronation Street star Katie McGlynn had the perfect response to a troll who slammed her acting on Twitter. The Rochdale actress was widely praised for her role as Sinead Osbourne in the soap and her portrayal of Sinead’s final days as her life ebbed away after battling cervical cancer.

Unfortunately a nasty troll told Katie that she was “c*** on Corrie.”

But Katie was quick to hit back: “Well me and my NTA are quite happy with my performance but thanks for your concern.”

“Wise words,” praised one follower.

“People have too much time on their hands and have nothing better to do it’s best to stand 10ft tall and keep going.”

“Ignore the troll! We all know you smashed it out of the park,” said another.

And another said: “You were excellent in Corrie and your beautiful face is missed. Good luck in all your future adventures.”

The 26-year-old scooped the best serial drama performance for her heartbreaking scenes in Coronation Street at the National Television Awards 2020.

Sinead’s death from cervical cancer saw some of the programme’s most harrowing scenes as it documented the young mum’s journey – and Katie felt like she was grieving for real while acting out her final scenes in Sinead’s flat that she shared with her husband Daniel and their baby son Bertie.

The star, who worked with the charity Mummy’s Star dedicated to women and their families affected by cancer during pregnancy, was overwhelmed with emotion as she dedicated her accolade to her late grandad.

“I want to thank someone who is not here tonight. My grandad, who passed away,” she said. “He always supported me through acting, he took me to all my acting classes and auditions.

“When I was younger and I got my first TV role he said, that’s brilliant Katie. I said, are you happy grandad? He said, yes I am happy with that. But when are you going to get on Coronation Street?” Katie said that she promised that one day she would get on his favourite soap.

She continued: “Sadly he passed away and then literally a month later I got the audition for Coronation Street.

“Seven years later I am holding this award and I am over the moon. I can’t tell you how happy I am.”

Katie added a dedication to any woman who has been affected by cervical cancer.
