Follow in Trixie and co’s footsteps after show’s former chapel home receives a truly spectacular religious conversion
THE converted London chapel where Call the Midwife was filmed, delivers everything you could want in terms of luxury and stylish design. Set in seven acres of beautiful landscaped grounds, this unique property in Mill Hill has been transformed to make the most of its breathtaking interior, which is especially evident in the full height living space of the original nave and sanctuary.
Incredible 45ft ceilings, a cinema, gym, steam room, orangery and grand bedrooms are just some of the features that create a stunning property – although, for some, re-tracing the footsteps of the characters from the hit BBC drama, starring Jenny Agutter and
Helen George, might be just as much of a draw.
The chapel was used in earlier episodes of the period drama about a group of nuns and nurse midwives working in the East End in the late 1950s/60s, until permission was given to convert the building and filming had to be moved elsewhere.
Fans will need decent-sized bank balance if they fancy living in rooms where some of their favourite scenes came to life.
Rent for the four-bedroom property is £11,000 a week – but for that you get large marble pillars, floor-to-ceiling windows and bathrooms which wouldn’t look out of place in the finest hotels. A grand entrance hall leads into the chapel which has a cinema, gym and bedroom suite.
But it’s on the first floor where the word ‘magnificent’ springs to mind. There are two bedrooms, including the master suite with en-suite bathroom, a spacious lounge, family room and an office, a sleek kitchen and the dining room in the heart of the chapel’s nave.
A further bedroom can be found on the second floor and, on the third mezzanine floor, is a music room.
Any way you look at it, this home is undoubtedly Superior…
