Corrie star Antony’s tribute to inspirational teenager

-

CORONATION Street star Antony Cotton has paid tribute to a inspirational teenager who has lost a brave battle with cancer.

The soap star, who plays Corrie’s Sean Tully, reached out to Harrison ‘Harri’ Torr and his family after seeing his story on the ITV1 garden makeover show Love Your Garden in February.

Fifteen-year-old Harri was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of cancer that arises in the bones, in January 2018. After a two-year battle, including having his leg amputated from the knee down and frequent chemotherapy, he received a terminal diagnosis.

Antony, from Bury, who arranged for Harri and his family to visit the Corrie set at Trafford Wharf, was heartbroken to hear that Harri had died.

Return and meeting the cast, including Alison King, who plays Carla Connor, Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, Ben Price who plays Nick Tilsley, Lisa George, who plays Beth Sutherland, and Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah Platt, he wrote: “It was a day I’ll never forget. If you can, please watch the episode so that you can see for yourself how wonderful they are.”

On Love Your Garden, host Alan

Titchmarsh and his team designed and built a dream garden for Harri.

After learning that Harri had lost his fight for life, Antony tweeted: “This morning I was told that Harrison ‘Harri’ Torr had died. “I was grateful to hear the heartbreaking news from his brother Josh, and not by reading it online. He was only in my life for the briefest of times, but his impact was huge. My love goes out to Erica, Josh and Sophie.”
