Yobs urinating on walls during ‘sweary’ BBQs

-

GROUPS of ‘swearing’ lads have been urinating on people’s walls and having barbecues in a residential area.

The gang left piles of rubbish after they caused a disturbance on Maher Gardens, an area of green space surrounded by houses in Old Trafford.

Local officers posted about the issue on Twitter.

They said they drove to two homes in Moss Side and Rusholme after the residents were identified as being involved.

Police said they spoke to two offenders who were warned about coronavirus breaches.

The friends had travelled to the area with people from multiple households in the car.

Under current Covid-19 legislation, people are only allowed to meet up with one other person from another household and they must remain two metres apart at all times.

Patrols have been ramped up in the area following the incident and officers will consider applying for a Section 35 Dispersal Order.

On the GMP Stretford Twitter account, officers wrote: “I’m aware that a number of cars are turning up on Maher Gardens, Old Trafford, with males then drinking, having barbecues and leaving lots of litter.

“I understand they are swearing and urinating against residents’ walls too. I will sort this.

“So, far I have visited two addresses in Moss Side and Rusholme and spoke with the families of two lads who had drove to OT. I have cycled around the area plus patrolled in a police vehicle and a plain car too. I will continue to do so and if the ASB continues I will apply for a Section 35 Dispersal Order for that particular area.”
