Fights and defacing statues get us nowhere

-

FRANKLY, I have had enough. Now the virtue signallers are defacing the statue of Cromwell in Wythenshawe Park, following similar graffiti attacks on the Cenotaph and Churchill’s statue.

We should be trying to defeat the coronavirus pandemic, not dividing our once great nation. All lives matter regardless of race or creed.

Racism must be eradicated, easier said than done of course, but history is history and cannot be erased.

Virtually every nation has been guilty of some sort of genocide and slavery, we cannot change that, but we must learn from it. Where are the protests about the treatment of the Uighurs in China for instance, and other recent genocides?

Remember the Holocaust, the indigenous peoples of the Americas and other countries, the Kulaks in Russia, the genocide of Armenians and countless other atrocities?

The only commonsense article I have read recently is by US black activist Candace Owens.

“We are the only community that fights and screams and demands justice for the people in our community that are up to no good. It has become fashionable for us to turn criminals into heroes. George Floyd was not an amazing person. Everyone is saying that this man lived a heroic lifestyle and he didn’t. I will not be part of the broken black culture that wants to martyr black criminals and make them out to be outstanding human beings.”

Fighting each other and defacing statues will achieve nothing and means only the racists and aliens (coronavirus) will win.

Appreciate my views may not be ‘politically correct’ but I have had enough.
