Changes to come as Ole freshens things up

- By SAMUEL LUCKHURST

OLE Gunnar Solskjaer says he will make ‘a few’ changes to the United team for their FA Cup quarter-final at Norwich City.

The Reds boss made three changes to the side that drew against Tottenham in the midweek stroll over Sheffield United at Old Trafford, where they had the luxury of substituting Paul Pogba, Bruno Fernandes, Mason Greenwood, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford while 3-0 up.

Phil Jones and Axel Tuanzebe are still the only players unavailable through injury. United travel to Brighton on Tuesday in the Premier League and Solskjaer is grateful to have a full-ish squad amid the hectic schedule.

He said: “With the long lay-off we’ve had, looking after the players is one of our jobs. We played Wednesday, Saturday, Tuesday and Saturday again, the heat. There’ll be a few changes.

“If you want to be a part of a winning Man United team you have to make a couple of changes, but that’s the situation we’re in. We all agreed we’re going to try and finish the season.”

Sergio Romero could replace David de Gea, having started in all four FA Cup ties so far this season, and Eric Bailly and Odion Ighalo are pushing for recalls. Brandon Williams could come in at full-back and Scott McTominay an option to freshen up the midfield.

United were excellent in their 3-1 victory at Carrow Road in October and dismissed Norwich 4-0 in the reverse fixture in January. Daniel Farke’s side are marooned at the bottom of the Premier League and six points adrift of Aston Villa in 19th.
