‘I was made to look like the angry black woman on TV show’

-

FORMER The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Magali Gorre claims she was edited to look like ‘an angry black woman’ during her time on the show.

Magali, who starred in the first and second series of the ITVBe reality show about the glamorous lives of a group of wealthy women living in Cheshire, told the M.E.N. she was to make look like ‘trouble’ by the programme.

But the Dutch mother-of-three, who is married to football coach and former player Dean Gorre, has since been asked by fans to make a comeback and says she’d be glad to return to the show to represent ‘women of colour.’

“I represented black women and I’ve been asked by fans ‘please come back because you represent us,’” she told us.

“Twenty-seven years ago I married my husband and I grew up in the white world of football.

“I went to a girls’ school where everybody was white and I was black.

“On the show I represented women of colour and especially black women.

“The show was a platform and I stood up for myself.

“I’m a black woman representing women of colour and I’m successful and my husband is successful.”

Magali, who left the show in 2016, after the second series, is disappointed she never had the ‘closure’ of taking part in one of the infamous reunion shows.

“I was labelled as a black angry woman,” she said about her time on the programme.

“The way I was edited and the way they protected certain people.

“The scenes they showed, I look like I’m trouble but I’ll tell you when I’m not happy.”

Earlier this month Magali attended one of the Black Lives Matter protests held in Manchester.

“I needed to be there,” she said. “You can’t murder someone because of their colour.”

ITV has declined to comment.
