Talking BETTING

- FRED DONE

ISN’T it fantastic that both Manchester clubs have returned so brilliantly from lockdown.

City are at Southampton tomorrow and it’s no surprise the Blues are odds-on, with the Saints 9/1 to spring an upset.

I’ve been advocating all season that Phil Foden should be given an automatic starting place - the Stockport Iniesta is the star of the club’s superb academy.

It proves how wise it is to invest in local talent, for Foden is proving he’s good enough to take over from David Silva, saving the club an absolute fortune.

Foden is 5/1 to score first against the Saints, with Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus both 7/2 shots.

Kevin de Bruyne ran tired Liverpool ragged at the Etihad, proving once again he’s one of the best passers of the ball in the world. He is 11/2 to bag the opener for City tomorrow.

Now United have a fully fit squad and Bruno Fernandes pulling the strings, they have proved their critics wrong and are firmly in the running for a top-four finish, FA Cup and Europa League glory.

Betfred’s odds for a top-four finish have altered significantly in the last few days.

Chelsea and United are now both 4/9 – with Leicester, whose form has slipped rapidly since the resumption, are 11/10, despite being third in the table.

Wolves, who continue to surprise many, are 11/4 at Betfred – while Arsenal and Spurs are amongst the also-rans at 100/1.

Today, United are 1/6 at Betfred to pick up three points against relegation-haunted Bournemouth.

Man of the moment Fernandes is 9/2 to score first, with his midfield partner Paul Pogba 7/1.

Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are both 11/4 – while up and coming talent Mason Greenwood is 5/1 to score the opener.

If, like me, you think this is going to be a rout for the Reds, then we’re 9/2 that it ends 4-0 – just like the result City pulled off against the newly-crowned champions on Thursday.
