Police warn pub punters not to ignore virus threat

-

PUNTERS have been warned not to ignore COVID-19 rules this weekend despite forecasts predicting sunny conditions.

Pubs are expected to be busy once again as they plan for their second week after reopening to customers for the first time since the lockdown began.

Things went mostly to plan for police last weekend but one senior officer has issued a plea to customers not to flaunt regulations in the upcoming warm weather.

The Met Office is predicting highs of 18-20C on Saturday and Sunday around Greater Manchester, with relatively little chance of rain until Monday.

Superintendent Chris Hill thanked members of the public for adhering to the rules so far and asked them to continue.
