FIREFIGHTERS have issued a warning after being called out to help youngsters stuck in swings three times over the weekend.

It comes after teenager Layani Maclean, 14, became trapped in a baby swing while filming a Tik Tok video with friends and had to be cut out by firefighters.

Oxfordshire was shared online. But Greater Manchester fire chiefs say they had three calls on Saturday about so-called ‘copycat’ incidents.

They have warned people not to waste the time of the emergency services.

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service tweeted details on Saturday evening. “Last week a teenager was helped by @oxonfirerescue after becoming stuck in a swing in a park – she was being filmed by friends,” they said. “We’ve had three calls today about copycat incidents. “We are an emergency service. Our firefighters save lives. Please don’t waste their time.”

Layani Maclean was at her local park with friends, in Faringdon, Oxfordshire, when she got into trouble on July 12.

The mortified teenager found herself unable to move after sitting in the small swing, intended for toddlers, The Mirror reports.

Her mum, Charlie Maclean, tried to free her with washing up liquid but was eventually forced to call for the assistance of local firefighters.

Firefighters unhinged the swing and used the washing up liquid to eventually squeeze her out, The Mirror reports.

The schoolgirl was stuck for 90 minutes.

Her mum told The Mirror: “My daughter was really embarrassed when we had to call the fire fighters, but when they arrived they were amazing. They did a great job, whilst cracking all the possible swing jokes they could think of.

“This definitely wasn’t the first job they’d been to like that and they assured both me and my daughter that it wouldn’t be their last.”
