Police investigation after man assaulted in Arndale
VICTIM IN HIS 20S SUFFERS MINOR INJURIES IN ATTACK AT SHOPPING CENTRE
POLICE have launched an investigation after a man was assaulted in Manchester Arndale.
Part of the ground floor of the shopping centre was cordoned off for a number of hours following the attack at about 4.30pm on Sunday.
The victim, a man in his 20s, suffered minor injuries.
Police have described the incident as an assault, while accounts from the scene suggest the victim was stabbed.
One witness reported seeing armed police and blood on the floor at the scene, close to the Corporation Street entrance.
No arrests have been made.
Inspector William JenningsWharton, of GMP’s City of Manchester district, said: “I understand that this news may cause concern so I would like to reassure members of the public that a thorough investigation is underway and initial inquiries suggest that all of those involved in this incident were known to each other.
