FARMER EXACTS REVENGE AFTER HUNDREDS OF TYRES DUMPED ON HIS LAND

- By HELENA VESTY

A FRUSTRATED farmer decided it was time to stop treading lightly after finding hundreds of tyres dumped on his land.

Stuart Baldwin says he is targeted at least once a week by fly-tippers.

And he finally lost his rag after finding 421 tyres abandoned in his livestock field. The act was caught on CCTV so Stuart says he was able to track down the alleged fly-tipper to his nearby home.

Stuart, 56, gave the man a threeday deadline to clean up the tyres but when he failed to do anything, the farmer took matters into his own hands.

Stuart piled all the tyres into a dumper truck used by the family’s recycling business, drove them to the alleged fly-tipper’s home, and – with the help of some keen staff – dumped them on his doorstep.

Stuart, from Wigan, told the M.E.N.: “I was getting so angry with people fly-tipping on my land, it was time to do something about it, to take matters in our own hands.

“We put a camera up in the bushes and we caught the man who did it on the camera. My daughter put a picture on Facebook and we found out who it was – he actually came forward. We found where he lived and gave him a couple of days to move the tyres, then we went and

Tyred and emotional... Stuart Baldwin with the tyres dumped on his land, left, and after they were returned to the alleged fly-tipper knocked on his door and he didn’t do anything. So we took them back for him – it’s as simple as that.”

Stuart documented the whole ordeal in videos posted online which have become viral sensations, with millions of views on social media. He added: “Nobody likes a fly-tipper. We’ve been inundated with congratulations since the video went online.”
