He was polite ... everybody loved Jordan

- By HELENA VESTY

A 27-YEAR-OLD man who died after a car smashed into a tree has been named as Jordan Price.

Emergency services were called to the fatal collision in Radcliffe Moor Road, Radcliffe, at around 9pm on Wednesday.

A grey Mercedes-Benz A Class A45 had collided with a tree, police said.

Jordan was rushed to hospital with serious head and chest injuries. But despite the best efforts of medics, he was pronounced dead shortly after.

Jordan grew up in Bury, attending Bury College, before moving to Walkden. The young man worked as a roofer after setting up his own business, Manchester Roofing Specialists, in Denton alongside his brother.

Jordan’s brother, Dean Price, said: “He was a really nice person, he was always polite to everyone, he was good in character. Everybody loved Jordan.”

The two brothers had not known each other until two years ago, when Jordan got in contact.

They decided to create their business up as a way of getting to know each other. But two years on, the brothers had become ‘best friends.’

Dean said: “He was the boss of the business, the customers absolutely loved him.”

Jordan was known as Jordan Young, but later changed his name to Price to be closer to other sides of his family. Along with being a businessman, Jordan enjoyed going out with his friends – dressing his best for every occasion. Dean said: “He was businessminded but he did like to go out on the weekends partying. He had a nice lifestyle, always dressed to the best, he was the life of the party.”

Jordan’s family has been left feeling devastated.

Dean added: “He loved his mum, his mum was his best friend. We had really bonded and become best friends too. This is probably the worst thing that’s ever happened in our lives, it doesn’t seem real to me.

“He’s only just come into my life and we were so close. Now he’s just been taken so soon.”

Jordan’s friends are also paying tribute to their adopted ‘brother,’ arranging a balloon release for Jordan.

Lifelong friends Sheldon and Ainsley Barrington had known Jordan for 16 years.

Ainsley said: “He was just a funny person to be around and never failed to make him smile – he wasn’t my best mate, he was my brother.

“I just wish he was still here.” Police inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.

Detectives are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward, particularly anyone who might have dashcam footage of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161 856 4741, quoting incident number 2998 of August 19. Reports can also be made to Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
