AN abusive boyfriend who ‘terrorised’ his ex threatened to kill the terrified woman and her mother if she went out on New Year’s Eve.

Killian Walker, 22, has been jailed for a ‘catalogue’ of ‘nasty, violent and bullying’ acts against his ex-partner.

He had previously attacked the woman and her friend in public.

Minshull Street Crown Court heard their relationship ended last summer following ‘domestic abuse’ committed by Walker.

Walker, from Clayton, was later jailed for six months for a driving offence. He was released in November last year, with a restraining order preventing him from contacting his ex – or her mother – for five years.

After his release, the woman initially gave Walker the benefit of the doubt and resumed contact with him, prosecutor David James said.

In December, he turned up at her home in the early hours and accused her of seeing other people. She stopped contact, but Walker ‘refused to accept this,’ prosecutors said.

On December 18, she and a friend were walking home at about 5.30pm when Walker pulled up in a car.

Walker started to attack her, landing a ‘barrage of blows’ and kicking her.

He drove off. His ex was left with scratches and bruises.

She had to change her plans over Christmas as she was worried Walker may try to contact her.

Prosecutors said Walker was trying to ‘stop her going out’ to celebrate the New Year – and made threats. He turned up in the afternoon on New Year’s Eve, but drove off shortly after.

Later, at about 6pm, Walker arrived at his ex’s mother’s home and tried to force his way in. His ex, her mother and her mother’s partner tried to barricade the door.

Walker said he would ‘return with a gun and kill them all if she went out that evening,’ the court heard.

He smashed a window of his ex’s mother’s car, and rammed the same car twice with his own vehicle. Walker was arrested on January 18. In a statement, his ex said Walker’s behaviour is ‘seriously affecting her life,’ and said she is ‘constantly looking over her shoulder.’

Defending, Hunter Gray said Walker, a father, suffers from mental health problems and is ‘crying out for help.’

Sentencing, Judge Patrick Field QC told Walker: “You terrorised these people, and for that you must face significant punishment.”

Walker, of Hurstbourne Avenue, Clayton, pleaded guilty to two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, two counts of breaching a restraining order, damaging property, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance. He was jailed for two years and four months. Further restraining orders were imposed for five years. Walker was also banned from driving for two years and seven months.
