Keeper Kovar set to leave United on season loan

- By RICHARD FAY

MATEJ Kovar is close to a loan departure from United.

The Reds are keen for a number of their youth players to gain first-team experience next season.

M.E.N. Sport understand two EFL clubs are pursuing a deal for the 20-year-old goalkeeper with Swindon Town believed to be the most likely destination.

Kovar has been a familiar face in first-team training sessions under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but is yet to make his senior debut for United despite shining at youth level, especially for the Under-23s during their promotion last season.

The Czech shot-stopper trained with the Reds over the weekend but talks continue over his future with a loan exit expected in the coming days.

Kovar would become the third player to leave United on loan this season after Tahith Chong sealed a move to Werder Bremen and Aliou Traore penned a one-year deal with SM Caen.

MK Dons have opted against a loan move for Max Taylor after having him on trial, with the young central defender now expected to join another EFL club on trial next week.

Oliver Denham has been allowed to go on trial with Cardiff City, although no firm decision has yet been made over his future.

Isak Hansen-Aaroen, meanwhile, has confirmed he is set to join United

The 16-year-old celebrated his birthday on Saturday and the Reds are now expected to formally confirm his arrival, having already announced their initial academy intake of firstyear scholars.

M.E.N. Sport reported the Norwegian forward would move to Manchester this month, a year after United initially agreed a deal to sign him from Tromso.

Now the teenager has broken his silence on the impending move to Old Trafford by sharing a picture on his Instagram story from a United fan account which showed him along with the famous club crest.

Hansen-Aaroen became Tromso’s youngest-ever player at the age of 15 years and 319 days.
