Jadon not getting distracted by his £100m price tag

- By MARCUS BANKS

UNITED transfer target Jadon Sancho says its a ‘nice feeling’ to be valued at over £100m, but insists his focus is fully on improving as a footballer.

The winger has emerged as one of the world’s most promising youngsters after leaving City for Borussia Dortmund in 2017.

The 20-year-old immediately joined the first-team squad and has blossomed into a key player for the Bundesliga side, enjoying the best season of his career so far which has sparked transfer interest from United.

The England international is a priority transfer target for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer but M.E.N. Sport understand the club are still aiming to resolve two issues that are preventing a deal for the youngster.

United have still not found a resolution over Sancho’s salary expectations and the agents’ fees during talks with his representative Emeka

Obasi and the intermediary Marco Lichtsteiner, acting on behalf of Dortmund.

The German club value Sancho at more than £100m but the Reds have been insistent that such a transfer fee is simply not realistic given the current financial climate.

In an interview with SoccerBible, Sancho gave his verdict on such a transfer fee.

“I guess it’s a nice feeling to be worth so much, but again, I don’t really look at it that much,” he said. “For me it’s about doing well for my team and doing well for myself as well.

“When I have a s*** game I’m just

down. I feel s*** about myself. So I always like having a good game and showing people what I can do. “I know what I can do, and if I play bad then I’m just p***** off with myself. Next game I’ll try and improve on whatever I’ve done wrong.” Sancho took a risk when leaving City at such a young age but has no regrets over making the move to Germany. Nevertheless, he believes staying to play Under-23 football would not have hurt his development.

He added: “Not at all. It’s about patience. You can’t rush things. Everything happens for a reason. If it was meant to be this year that I broke through, then I’d be more than happy.

“I’m still young. But, obviously, I was lucky enough that I had the coaches that had faith in me, and they took a chance.

“The last few years have gone so quick for me and I’m enjoying the journey.”
