Cole says United trio are looking red hot!

UNITED forwards Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood will continue to thrive as long as they work for each other, according to Andy Cole.

The former United striker was a Treble winner under Sir Alex Ferguson in 1999 and gained a reputation as one half of a lethal Old Trafford strike pairing with Dwight Yorke. He believes Martial, Rashford and Greenwood, whose goal tally between them last season was among Europe’s best in terms of attacking trios, will only get better. “They’re all young and energetic and have got good pace and can score goals,” Cole said.

“I can see them being at Manchester United for many years and, hopefully, with those guys contributing more goals, and from wide areas then, hopefully, this season we’ll be up there trying to win some silverware.”

Cole believes teamwork is key to the chemistry between Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s front three. Rashford and Martial have a good friendship, while Greenwood is following in Rashford’s footsteps as the next big talent to emerge from United’s academy. “If you have the opportunity to score goals and contribute towards the team and help your teammates out, then do it,” was Cole’s advice.

“Being at Manchester United, you’ve got to be a team player. It’s not all about you as an individual scoring as many goals as possible, you’ve all got to muck in.

“They [the relationships] are key. And those three look like they have a very good relationship off the pitch as well. “I enjoy watching the boys playing up front now, they all look like they enjoy it and they look like they’re close.”
