Drive in scares
ANOTHER new drive-in event is heading to Manchester this autumn - but this one comes with a terrifying twist.
Drive-in cinema ScareCity will be screening some of the best horror films of all time when it arrives at EventCity next month.
Ticket-holders will drive through a chilling ‘scare tunnel’ before the film screenings, passing through a replica graveyard and past a bloodspattered Winnebago.
Live actors will add to the thrill of the events, with horror props and photo opportunities aplenty too.
The event comes from the same company behind the Park N Party series that has entertained Greater Manchester residents this summer.
While the events are geared towards thrill-seekers, there are family-friendly screenings at midday on the weekends, with films including Coraline, Coco, and Frankenweenie.
For adults, classic horrors such as Beetlejuice, the Blair Witch Project, The Descent and The Ring will all be on the bill.
Modern cult classics Get Out, The Conjuring, The Invisible Man, and Paranormal Activity will also join the three week-long schedule of film screenings.
ScareCity will be at EventCity between October 12 and November 1, welcoming audiences with a socially distanced format.
The venue has announced it will close permanently on March 31, 2021, and has pulled its plans for a new venue.
Tickets cost £35 per vehicle and can be purchased at parknpartymcr.co.uk/scare-city.
