Eight are charged in stolen cars investigat­ion

ADAM Thomas has paid a moving tribute to his dad Dougie James following his death.

The much-loved Manchester music promoter and lead singer of the 1970s band Dougie James and the Soul Train died at the end of November, aged 72.

Former Emmerdale actor Adam has now broken his silence on his dad’s death, calling him his ‘sunshine on a cloudy day’.

The 32-year-old wrote on social media: “My sunshine on a cloudy day.

“Thank you to all my friends family and all of you guys for all the lovely messages over the past week or so I needed it so thank you.”

EIGHT men have been charged as part of an investigat­ion into stolen vehicles across Greater Manchester.

They will all due to appear at Manchester magistrate­s court.

Zeeshan Ali, 30, of Malvern Street, Oldham, has been charged with conspire to receive stolen goods and concealing/disguising/converting/transferri­ng/ criminal property.

Hadir Ali, 26, of Lee Street, Oldham, has been charged with conspiracy to steal, entering into/concerned in acquisitio­n/retention/use or control criminal property and three counts of conspiring to receive stolen goods.

Adam starred in a documentar­y series with his dad this year where they went on a journey to India with brothers Scott and Ryan to explore their heritage.

Habib Rehman, 46, of Hereford Street, Oldham, has been charged with conspiracy to steal.
