Dad who had sex on pavement is locked up

JUDGE BLASTS ‘APPALLING OFFENCE’

- By JON HARRIS

A DAD who had sex with a woman on the pavement in a busy town centre in the middle of the day has been jailed.

Jonathon Pisani, 45, had sex with 40-year-old Kate Jackson on the street in Stalybridge after they got chatting and shared a bottle of White Storm cider. Police were called after a member of the public mistakenly believed Jackson was being raped but council CCTV operators who began observing them noticed the pair kissing passionately outside a nightclub.

A court heard the camera then panned back to see Jackson and Pisani lying on the pavement cuddling each other before she pulled him on top of her before they began having sex as shoppers walked past. Officers attended and the pair were arrested.

Pisani, from Oldham, was jailed for 11 weeks for outraging public decency.

Jackson pleaded guilty to the same charge when she appeared before magistrates in Tameside last month.

She was fined and made subject to a 12-month community order.

However, a judge told Manchester magistrates court that the offence was ‘appalling’ and that Pisani’s previous convictions meant only immediate custody was appropriate in his case. It occurred on the afternoon of Monday, August 10, the court heard.

It was said Pisani had previous convictions for unrelated matters and had repeatedly failed to attend court.

The dad-of-one appeared in the dock from custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Ian Ridgway, defending, said: “His coaccused received a community order. He is currently living at his daughter’s house in Oldham with the thought that he would be there for some time. If you are not willing to impose a community order then I ask for any sentence to be suspended.

“He has mental health issues and is trying to get treatment from his doctor.”

But District Judge Bernard Begley told him: “This was an appalling offence committed in broad daylight in the middle of the summer.”

He added: “It may well be that the woman in this case was dealt with in a particular way, but only immediate custody can be imposed in your case.’’

Pisani, who also admitted being in breach of a conditional discharge, was ordered to pay £213 in costs and surcharges.
