A FURTHER police investigation has been launched over the death of a much-loved young dad.

Connor Bond, 22, died as a result of multiple injuries after falling from the 31st floor of an apartment block in Greengate where he was working as a concierge, his family were told at an inquest into his death.

During the proceedings, Bolton Coroners Court heard that he had been at work on the night he died, Sunday, February 16.

Senior Police Coroners Officer Marcheta Hogan told the court that officers who had investigated the incident found ‘no suspicious circumstances’ surrounding Connor’s death.

But, after hearing evidence from some members of his family, senior coroner Timothy Brennand was asked to adjourn the inquest to allow time police to investigate further.

Alison Bond, Connor’s mum, told the hearing her son was a ‘beautiful person’ who loved to sing, dance and act.

“He could get on with anybody,” she said. “Anyone who met him would fall in love with him.

“He was a truly special person who was loved by everybody, in particular his family.”

She went on to say that Connor’s one-year-old daughter Miley was the ‘focus of his world’ but he had a ‘dysfunctional and sometimes toxic’ relationship with the child’s mother, including regular messages and phone calls.

Mrs Bond added: “Something must have happened while he was at work to make my wonderful son decided he was better off not being here.”

Connor lived in Miles Platting with his parents and went to school at Our Lady’s in Blackley.

The court heard a statement from Julie Evans, a forensic toxicologist, who said that he had a high percentage of alcohol in his blood after he died, although not enough to be toxic on its own.

But, following Ms Hogan’s request, the coroner adjourned the inquest to be heard again on Thursday, February 11, 2021.

He also warned that he would be sending a letter to the owners of the building to raise concerns that Connor was able to fully open the 31st floor window, which should have been safely latched.
