Store reopens after outbreak
A TESCO superstore in Trafford has reopened following a deep clean after a Covid outbreak.
The Stretford Extra branch on Chester Road was forced to close for a number of hours yesterday after staff members at the store were confirmed to be off work selfisolating.
Tesco stated the reason for the closure was to carry out a deep clean of the premises and to ensure staff could be tested before entering the store.
The supermarket chain would not confirm the exact number of staff currently off sick, but said on Friday that a ‘number of colleagues’ were unable to work.
They also said that a staff member had died, but the chain did not officially confirm a cause of death ‘out of respect for the employee’s family’.
